Operation World

I took this picture several years ago with my 35mm camera. Ever since I got it developed I fell in love with it. It's so simple, kind of eerie, but displays a perfect example of believers in a lost world.

We are to be a light in the midst of darkness.

"You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:14-16

We have been reading and studying about all the nations here at Trek-X. There are SO many countries in need of Jesus. I have been burdened lately over the church. I long to see an awakening amongst believers all over-especially in the U.S. I hope and pray that the Lord would open the eyes of his children to see how dark and lost our world is; and that we would not just sit by and watch.

It's time to stop chasing after the american dream and live a life of self-abandonment. I'm preaching to myself as well.  I challenge us all to rethink the way we live our lives. Who and what are we living for?
Only God deserves glory and praise.

Let's get on our knees for the nations!

Have a wonderful weekend

Spring Fever

(Amanda Munoz Photography)

I've been itching for Spring lately. Happens every year this time…i'm just so over the cold. It snowed here on Sunday and while it was pretty to look at, it was too cold to actually enjoy. I can't wait for pretty flowers, warm weather, and all the exciting activities taking place. Spring is by far my favorite season!

Once March rolls around, things will become even busier.
Our first mission trip of the new year will be in Atlanta, GA. We will be working in multi-ethnic apartment complexes sharing the gospel, and possibly doing a VBS for this kids. There are over 145 countries and 761 language groups represented within a 5 mile radius of our ministry site! Talk about reaching the nations! Betcha didn't know that about Atlanta…I sure didn't. Please be in prayer for this trip and our trip to Guatemala this summer.

Mitch and I have been brushing up on our Spanish lately. We would love to come back from Guatemala fluent! :) We'll see…

Been enjoying these lovely roses from my sweet husband. Couldn't help but share.
God Bless.

Valentine's

Tuesday, February 14, 2012

Valentine's: A day that the whole world (America) celebrate's love. Unfortunately this world doesn't know love, it knows lust.

"This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his love for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers." 1 John 3:16

Thankful for such great love! I pray that today we treasure Christ and His great love. Out of that will overflow our love for one another. I personally think we should act as if each day is Valentine's Day-showing love, being kind, spoiling are loved ones (and eating lots of chocolate)!

Although the concept of Valentine's Day is somewhat cheesy to me, I am reminded on this day how grateful I am for my husband. And that is worth celebrating.

Hope your day is filled with lots of love.

excitement

Wednesday, February 1, 2012

I almost started off this post by saying there's nothing too exciting going on in lives of Mitch and Amanda Munoz, but when I started to think about it- there's lots of exciting things are happening!

We celebrated Mitch's 23rd birthday last week! I made him home-made lasagna and we got free fro-yo for his big day. We are now the same age. He can no longer call me his cougar :)

Mitch and I have recently figured out where we will be spending our summer….are you ready for this?

We are very excited about this opportunity! Neither of us have ever been there, so it will be quite the experience. However, we are veteran mission trip go-ers and between the 2 of us we are almost fluent in Español. It also helps that we look hispanic-and one of us is! Pray for our upcoming adventures in Central America. Fact: Guatemala City is the 5th most dangerous city in the world. Fact: Our God is greater!

Last, but not least, we have recently launched our new website! We wanted to create a fun way for people to get involved in helping support us through our ministry.
Well, here it is. Introducing…
Click here--> Creating Art. Providing Hope. The website tells our story, offers products (art) to buy, and I even added a section for my photography. I love creating things and I know people love buying things. Everything purchased from our site (even photography sessions) will help us raise the funds we need in our ministry. Please take a look! :)

Happy February (that means Winter is almost over)!!
