38 days...

Thursday, March 28, 2013

Mitch took me on a surprise date to Clarksville, TN when I got home from Atlanta a couple of weeks ago. It was so much fun to explore. It's a small town, but very quaint. We had a blast walking around the state park.

We are down to 38 days left in Nashville. This blows my mind. Nashville has been one of my favorite places to live thus far. If it had a beach, I'd be set. It's going to be bittersweet leaving this amazing city and the wonderful people we've gotten to know. However, I have a feeling that our next adventure is going to be unlike anything we've ever experienced.

International Village-ATL

Tuesday, March 19, 2013

As many of you know, I spent last week working in the International Village of Atlanta. What a week!
Leading the ATL mission trip is unlike leading any other trip out of the country. We were surrounded by all things foreign, yet we were in our own country. It was a strange thing, but really neat.

We led a creative arts team of students from First Baptist Church Naples, FL. Our week consisted of apartment ministry, their performances, and international tours. The group of students did a great job sharing the gospel and making Jesus known through their performances. We also got to try a lot of authentic ethnic food from Malaysia, Vietnam, and Mexico.
Here are a few photos from the week. You can see more on the Facebook page for Mobilizing Students in Atlanta.

Check out this awesome video made by Joshua Jones about the week in Atlanta!

Atlanta bound

Thursday, March 7, 2013

We spent last weekend in the beautiful Asheville, NC. We were there primarily for a conference, but also had a chance to catch some awesome views and see downtown. It was snowy, foggy, and freezing the entire time we were there so needless to say, I didn't get many pics. I'm a wimp when it comes to the cold!

Tomorrow I, along with two others will be heading to Atlanta! We will be spending a week there leading a mission trip. Mitch will be taking students from our church to a youth conference this weekend in Chattanooga. Please pray for our travels and our trips!

Cuilapa, Guatemala

Mitch and I are so excited to say that we're moving to Cuilapa, Guatemala. As you can see in the photo, we will be surrounded by some beautiful scenery. Cuilapa serves as the capital of the department (or state) of Santa Rosa. We will be about 40 miles south of Guatemala City and about the same distance from the boarder of El Salvador. Our boss just returned from Cuilapa where he was making preparation for summer teams and also for Mitch and I when we move there.

Other exciting trips:
-Mitch and I, along with two other Trek-X guys will be heading to Asheville, NC this weekend to represent Mobilizing Students at a Student Life Conference! We will be talking with middle and high school students about how they can get involved with our ministry

- I will be leading a mission trip in Atlanta with two fellow Trek-Xers in March! We will be leading a youth/choir group from Florida. We will be doing apartment ministry, similar to what we do in Nashville.

-This summer, Mitch and I will get the opportunity to choose which country we want to serve in. Originally we thought we would be leading teams in Puerto Rico, but turns out there are no teams going to Puerto Rico this summer. All of the other staff members are already placed and will lead teams in the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, and Romania. We are praying about possibly going to Guatemala for a few weeks to look for a house/apartment (Somebody call House Hunters International!).

We are so excited about the adventures we're going on in our near future! Stay tuned! :)
